Abdulrahman Bangura Founder/Director at Kids Soccer Academy
EARLY LIFE & EDUCATION
Abdulrahman Bangura was born and raised in Freetown, Sierra Leone. At age 17, Bangura and his family migrated to the United States through a refugee program in 2003, moving to Atlanta, Georgia. He became an American citizen in 2009.
Bangura attended Cross Keys High School in Atlanta, GA, and played College Soccer at Montreat College in North Carolina , where, in his first year, he was named third-team All-American.
In 2010, Bangura graduated from Montreat college (NC) with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Management and a minor Degree in Business Administration. Bangura also hold a license B National Soccer coaching qualification.
CAREER
Bangura graduated and then played professionally in Europe, North America and for the Sierra Leone National football team. Bangura spent three (3) years with Swedish club Härnösands FF, and was the only player on the team to appear in every single game from 2011-2013. He was the club captain and was also named to the league’s Best XI, occupying one of its three defensive spots. On 28 February 2014, Bangura signed a professional contract with the Atlanta Silverbacks where he played from 2014 -2018. Bangura was called up to the Sierra Leone national team for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualification against Seychelles. He got his first cap and played the first match in Freetown. Sierra Leone won the game 2-0. Bangura has represented Sierra Leone National football team 11 times from 2014-2018 (11 Senior National team appearance).
PASSION
Whilst Playing professional soccer, Bangura began coaching kids and this became a great passion of his. Making kids laugh and watching them having fun is something close to his heart. Bangura is the Founder/Director at Kid's Soccer Academy. The mission of the Academy is to Educate/empower kids & toddlers to become a responsible adults . Kids Soccer Academy is all about creating a FUN & SAFE Soccer Experience for boys & girls. Kids learn LIFE lessons through our soccer activities.
